- How can I pay?
- We accept Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Debit, Mastercard and Maestro.
- You can use America Express only by selecting 'PayPal Express' at the Shopping Basket page - American Express is not accepted on our own Checkout page.
- Cheques should be made payable to Borders Book Festival. Tickets must be paid for at time of booking and are non-refundable.
- Can I purchase tickets at the door of the event?
- Tickets for Borders Book Festival are limited and may therefore not be available for purchase at the door on the day of performance.
- Do I qualify for a concession ticket?
- Concession tickets (C) are available to students, registered disabled (plus one carer), registered unemployed, under 16s and Young Scot cardholders. Proof of entitlement will be required.
- When will I receive my tickets?
- We start posting tickets w/c 29 April, after which they should be with you 3-5 working days from when you place your order.
- What are the Box Office opening times?
- You can contact the Box Office by calling 0844 357 1060 Mon - Fri 10.00am - 5.00pm . An answerphone is available at all other times.
- Are there facilities for those with additional needs?
- All venues at Harmony Garden have wheelchair access. Please ask for individual venue access details when booking.
- Please note that the venue for the Everest in the Library sessions - The Education Centre, Melrose Abbey, Cloister Road, Melrose - does NOT have wheelchair access.
- Seats on the front row or by the central aisle can be reserved for ticket holders with disabilities, subject to availability. To arrange, please phone the Box Office in advance.
- An induction loop system is available in the Festival Marquee.
- How long are the events?
- Events are one hour long unless specified.
- Is my seat reserved?
- All seating is unreserved.
- What happens if I arrive after the performance has started?
- Events start punctually. Members of the audience may not be admitted after the beginning of events.
- Is there a booking fee?
- Yes, all purchases, except for Friends Memberships, are subject to a £1.50 booking fee per transaction.
- Visiting with children
- All Family Book Festival events are held within the walled garden at Harmony.
- Do I have to accompany my child to author events?
- We strongly advise that adults accompany children under ten to all events, including workshops. Everyone attending an event must have a ticket.
- How can I tell if a child’s ticket includes an accompanying adult?

For some events, especially workshops and interactive events for young children, each child’s ticket also admits one accompanying adult. This will be clearly stated in the programme entry and on the event ticket.
If you do not accompany your child, we request that you stay in the garden, near the event.
